For more than 40 years,  Dave Weckl has developed and maintained a reputation among fans, peers, and the international music community, as one of the greatest living drummers. His contributions to iconic music, music education, and the gear that drummers use, are many.

Weckl was born in St. Louis Missouri. He started drums at the age of 8. Early on, Weckl practiced to rock records by the Monkees, Credence Clearwater Revival, and more. In his early teens, Weckl's passion for jazz, fusion, and big band drumming really blossomed.

He relocated to the New York area in 1979, where he soon began working with artists such as Michel Camilo, Anthony JacksonPaul SimonGeorge Benson,  Robert Plant,  Mike Stern and many more.

Weckl’s career includes over 13 albums as a leader, several drumset play-along books, instructional DVD’s and numerous collaborations, notably a 36-year tenure with Chick Corea's Elektric and Akoustic bands. He also has his own On-Line School!

Dave’s influence extends beyond his technical prowess; his musical vision continues to push boundaries. Whether touring with his All-Star band, collaborating with legends, or teaching the next generation, Dave Weckl remains a pivotal figure in the music world, continually inspiring and innovating.
