Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony is one of the greatest pieces of music of all time. For over 200 years this monumental symphony has captivated listeners from the concert hall to the cinema, especially the triumphant ‘Ode to Joy’ of the finale, sung by glorious massed choir. Experience Beethoven’s astonishing masterpiece in the hands of the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra and Choir, under the baton of Dr Nicholas Milton AM.
The concert opens with Sibelius’ stirring Finlandia before Australian Jonathon Ramsay, recently appointed Principal Trombone of the Berlin Philharmonic, joins the orchestra for a Trombone Concerto by Nino Rota, famous for his iconic music for The Godfather.
For the enjoyment of all patrons, we encourage children over 5 years old to attend.
