Live at Lunch Artistic Director, Jane Rutter leads ARIA Award-winning pianist Tamara-Anna Cislowska and composer/pianist Elena Kats-Chernin in Unsent Love Letters: Meditations on Erik Satie.

When French composer Erik Satie died in 1925, his friends uncovered a pile of unsent love letters in his Paris apartment – written to the woman thought to be his only romantic involvement, model and painter Suzanne Valadon. Fascinated by this scenario, Kats-Chernin has composed a set of beautifully constructed piano miniatures in homage to Satie, each named with particular reference to an aspect of his life and his turbulent romance with Valadon.

Recognised as a major lunchtime musical event, the 2018 Live at Lunch Season will include mesmerising Gregorian Chant to Romantic Masterpieces by Schumann, Schubert and Brahms, exciting new World Chamber music, works by exiled WWII Composers, an homage to the Unsent ‘Love Letters’ of Erik Satie and a feast of Sacred Songs including ‘Ave Maria’s by different composers.

Season Subscriptions are available in 4, 5, 6 and 7 concert packages. Phone on 8075 8111 or visit The Concourse Box Office to purchase a subscription or ticket.

LUNCH: Join Jane and her guest artists for lunch after each concert. Purchase a lunch package with your concert ticket or Season Subscription.
