2560 years ago a young Prince was born at the foot of the Himalayas. Legend states that as he took his first steps fragrant lotuses sprang open under his feet and since that time the world has been filled with brightness and hope.

Prince Siddhartha is the world’s first musical on the life of the Buddha and was adapted from Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s (founder of the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Order) bestseller – The Biography of Sakyamuni Buddha.

The moving storyline, spectacular traditional costumes and vibrant performances leads the audience through the tunnel of time to Buddha’s birthplace and explores the story of a young man who searches for the meaning of life and finds it silently tucked within himself.

From the teachings of Buddha has sprung one of the world’s oldest and richest religious traditions and in order to present the Buddha’s life from his birth to Nirvana, more than 50 artists from the FGS Academy of Art in the Philippines are performing this musical for the first time to Australian audiences.
